Last week, we held the first of this year’s three Fellowship for Leaders residentials – this time, in sunny Peterborough! Our group, which represents 14 Foyers from across the country, met for two days to delve into their leadership DNA and find out what makes other inspiring leaders tick.

The residential gave each person space to reflect on their own leadership style, as well as learning from their peers. During workshops, everyone shared their own stories, learnings and problems, and has the opportunity to both gain and give fresh perspectives.

We also heard from three inspiring speakers about their own leadership styles.

Maura Jackson, CEO of Backup North West, shared her experiences of being an authentic leader and building genuine relationships, and the benefits of making your own way.

Colin Falconer, Founder and Director of InspireChilli, discussed what it means to be a relentless leader and shared a smorgasbord of ways to spark innovation, develop trust and become Advantaged Thinking.

Keeley Siddiqui-Charlick, CEO of the Sunnyside Rural Trust, spoke from the heart about how to lead while living your values and about putting the interests of the people you’re serving first.

Here’s some of the feedback we received:

“Great insight, very engaging, very practical and inspiring at the same time.”
“The guest speakers were really inspiring and made me want to strive to be a better leader.”
“I thought all the speakers were really great and felt really privileged to hear from them and take on board their advice.”
“I felt energised with work when I got back.”

Our next residential for the 2019/20 Fellowship for Leaders programme will take place in October. In the meantime, every delegate will have access to a personal coach to support their progress with regular one-to-one sessions.
