It is vital to be able to measure the impact of your work, but all too often data collection can be deficit based and the methods to gather it can detract from the day-to-day work with young people. This workshop looks at using an Advantaged Thinking approach to shape your monitoring, evaluation and learning processes for the benefit of your young people, staff and organisation.

Overview:

This workshop looks at how to capture asset-based outcomes to learn and develop your service. Measuring impact all too often is treated as a bolt on , and the information gathered is rare used effectively to improve services. This course will help you to understand the different approaches you can take and the practical steps needed to put effective data collection practices in place.

Learning outcomes:

  • Benefits and limitations of different data capture processes.
  • Planning and structuring data collecting using Advantaged Thinking language and tools.
  • How to evaluate and present data for different audiences (funders and commissioners, for staff development, young people).
