The Department of Education is introducing regulations for supported accommodation for looked after children and care experienced 16-17-year-olds.
In general, we welcome the principles behind the standards and hope the framework improves the quality of services across the UK to ensure young people get the support they need as they develop their independence in preparation for adult life. You can read our full response here.
However, we recognise that you are all 'closer to the action' and services across our network share differing views and the introduction of these standards may present due to the unique challenges / burdens the standards may create for you.
We are therefore pleased to be hosting the first Regulating Standards Working Group meeting for members on Friday 21st April between 10am-12pm. If you would like to attend please let us know here.
Through filling out the form you can let us know what you hope to get out of the working group as well as any ideas you have around discussion points.
