On 29 April, our latest cohort of FOR Youth Foyers began their journey to accreditation.

Eight services took up the FOR Youth challenge across our network:

  • Aberdeen
  • Calderdale
  • Ludlow
  • Eden Rural
  • South Lakes
  • Whitehaven
  • Worthing
  • Foyer for the Island

For the first time, we hosted the introductions day digitally, facilitated by special consultant Colin Falconer using a mix of expert presentation and group activity to explore the different assessment requirements and tools used in the FOR Youth process. Services reported leaving the day feeling “energised”, “excited”, “inspired” and “engaged” by the training, ready to begin their first steps to achieve endorsement by April 2021.

The session showcased the commitment of Foyers to Advantaged Thinking and offered insights into how Foyers are responding to the pandemic, with services noting how proud they were of the strengths shown by staff and young people to adapt to current challenges.

The April cohort, the fifth to commence the FOR Youth scheme, has been supported through a special The Foyer Federation bursary funded by Tudor Trust.

If you would like to join our next cohort starting from October this year, please get in touch with [email protected] or [email protected] for a conversation on your next steps.

The Foyer Federation is registered in England and Wales under company number 2699839 at Work.Life, Core Building, 30 Brown Street, Manchester, M2 1DH. The charity is registered under charity number 1040482.
