The Foyer Federation is seeking young people aged 18-25 to join its Board of Trustees and have a decisive impact in the management of the organisation. A core part of our 2021-24 strategy is our commitment to growing youth influence in the charity at all levels, from co-production of programmes to making crucial decisions about how the organisation is run.

With young people’s influence at Board level, we hope to bring a new perspective to discussions and ensure that the views, experiences and ideas of young people are always central to any decisions made about the Foyer Federation and our work. We hope to be positively challenged and stretched, as well as inspired by the energy and motivated by the drive of those Trustees aged 18-25.

As well as their unique perspectives, we are asking that applicants to these roles have some experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Activism
  • Campaigning
  • Community organising
  • Research and impact

Trustees of the Foyer Federation must have passion for our mission: to ensure that young people who can’t live at home get the best possible deal, and feel inspired to realise their power and purpose. You should also feel aligned with our values and live them in your day-to-day life:

  • Authentic
  • Brave
  • Loving
  • Maverick
  • Savvy

This is a voluntary role that gives you an opportunity to be part of a national organisation that speaks out about issues affecting young people experiencing homelessness. As well as gaining experience at an executive and strategic level, you will increase your contacts and broaden your view of the youth and homelessness sectors while supporting the Foyer Federation to grow.

You can find out more by visiting our Join the Team page and downloading and reading our applicant pack. If you’d like to apply, please complete the application form and return it to [email protected].

Application deadline: 29 October
