Who are Ambassadors?

Ambassadors are the voice of residents living in Foyers, speaking to decision makers, policy makers, businesses and members of the community to help make Foyers better places to live and learn.

APPG on Gun and Knife Crime involving Ambassadors at Westminster June 2008 Ambassadors inspire others through the projects, activities and events they are involved in.

As an Ambassador you will be part of a national network of young people committed to improving their own lives as well as the lives of the young people you are representing, speaking up for and campaigning on behalf of.

You will have the opportunity to showcase your achievements as well as those of your peers.

You can send us stories and pictures all about the things you are doing in your Foyer to inspire, motivate and engage others. You'll be given access to opportunities that can make a real difference to your life and to the lives of other young people.

The Foyer Federation Ambassador scheme is not a rigid programme but rather an open opportunity for you to choose the activities you want to take part in. You can take as active a roll as you wish; getting involved in what you want, how you want and when you want.

West London YMCA Foyer resident Ambassadors presenting at the Practice Event 2008 By being involved you can help shape policies and agendas around young people's issues, ranging from housing, learning, employment and health and well-being as well as many others. You'll help generate funding for Foyer projects, undertake and shape research into young people and ensure that decision and policy makers are investing in the needs of young people living in Foyers and beyond.

You'll help inspire others and act as a representative, consulting on the real issues affecting young people. Your achievements and actions, no matter how small, will ensure the voices of young people are being heard and listened to.
