Volunteering Case Studies

Inspiring Foyer residents to take part in volunteering placements in their local community.

In 2007, the Foyer Federation began a two year partnership with v; the independent charity inspiring a new generation of volunteers in England aged 16-25.

In partnership with two of our corporate partners, Virgin Unite and DSGi, they match funded a pilot volunteering programme which enabled the recruitment of the Foyer Federation's first ever Volunteer Co-ordinator and saw a total of 976 volunteers from across the Foyer Network take part in one off and part time volunteering placements.

Here, some of the residents who took part tell their stories.

Robert Craddock, an ex Rugeley Foyer resident - talks about becoming a Volunteer Co-ordinator.

Shoya Nelson, a resident at Enfield Foyer, talks about volunteering and the positive impact it has had on her life.
