Foyer Health is a three year programme which promotes the importance of health and well-being for young people and their communities throughout England.
Funded by the Big Lottery Fund's Well-being programme and delivered in partnership with a range of learning and accomodation centres, Foyer Health focuses on developing a sustainable approach to healthy living and has three main objectives:
- For young people to set and achieve their own health and well-being goals and take part in healthy eating, physical activity and mental well-being activities.
- To offer participants specialist packages, projects or interventions in one of the programme's three main areas - healthy eating, physical activity and mental well-being.
- For the Foyer Federation to develop quality standards in health promotion, enabling every young person involved in the programme to have a healthy place to live, work and learn.
We believe that every young person is entitled to a healthy transition from adolescence to independent adulthood. If you would like to make healthy living more accessible to young people in your community contact the Foyer Federation on 020 7430 2212 or email us at health@foyer.net
You can find out more about what the participating Foyers involved in Year One and Year Two of the programme have been doing to make healthy living more accessible for Foyer residents at our Foyer Health Blog.
